Dr Antara Banerjee awarded the INSA Medal for Young Scientists 2020

St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai is proud of its Alumna, Dr Antara Banerjee one of the recipients of the INSA Medal for Young Scientists, 2020, instituted by the Indian National Science Academy to honour talented young Indian scientists in recognition of their outstanding contributions in any branch of science or technology. Dr Antara Banerjee is an alumna from the 2008-2010 batch of the PG Department of Biotechnology. 

Antara completed her doctoral studies from NIRRH in 2017, followed by her post-doctoral studies at TIFR, Mumbai in 2019. She joined NIRRH as a Scientist in the Department of Structural Biology at ICMR’s National Institute for research in reproductive health (NIRRH), Mumbai in 2019. Her research focuses on the role of G protein-coupled receptors in reproduction and has several publications to her credit. 

She was awarded the Dr. (Mrs) Mridula Kamboj Young Scientist Award in February 2020 for her contribution to the field of fertility and reproduction.

Dr Antara is an inspiration to young biology enthusiasts. The early career awards conferred on her are an endorsement of her passion to explore the molecular cues in fertility and reproductive health.
